Our Philosophy of Care

Mission Statement
The office of Black & Benton Pediatrics has been dedicated to the care of children in the Knoxville area for over 50 years and serves patients from birth to 21 years of age.  Your child’s optimal health and well-being mark the focus of our practice and we strive to develop lifelong relationships with all our families.

Immunization Policy
Policy and Schedule

Our practice no longer accepts families who refuse all immunizations due to the risk that unimmunized individuals pose to others.  Our immunization schedule takes into consideration recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

Research on Safety
Thanks to immunizations, diseases that were once fatal and devastating to children now rarely affect them.  Herd immunity, a critical level only reached through widespread immunization, protects newborns and other immuno-compromised individuals from terrible, preventable disease.  Learn more about the safety of immunizations from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
